Aethelos: The Bastard of Light

(SCENARIO: Same clearing in the Forest of Noxi. Six competitors on the ground. Lygar standing in the center.) · Lygar, having dispersed the six competitors, advanced on Eli Cari. His speed was not human; it was the fluidity of Shadow. Eli Cari felt the true aura of fear — the terror of facing a force that annihilated his own discipline. · Lygar has longer, spiky black/dark hair. Lygar has dark purple/violet eyes. Lygar has a cold, arrogant expression. Lygar wears dark Noxian-style clothing. A black and purple shadow aura partially surrounds him. · Eli Cari has short dark-brown hair. Eli Cari has golden/amber eyes. Eli Cari wears a grey training suit with light armor details. · Lygar stopped abruptly, centimeters away. “DARK PUNCH!” · The punch coated in a strong dark aura caught Eli Cari completely off guard. He had no reaction. The blow threw him against an oak tree, making him fall to the ground, coughing and staggering. · “Lygar, stop it! We don’t want to be your opponents!” Yana shouted from the other side of the clearing. · Yana has dark hair of medium length. Yana has green or light-brown eyes. Yana wears modest clothes. · Lygar did not even look at her. His eyes stayed fixed on Eli Cari. “That’s what everyone says when they feel fear. Until then, they think they’re great brave warriors.” · Eli Cari stood up, staggering, but anger overcame the pain. “Yana, let me fight him.” · Yana, though terrified by the obvious outcome, accepted, reading the determination in her companion’s eyes. Lygar showed a smile of sadistic satisfaction. · The battle began. Eli Cari felt they were on completely different levels; Lygar’s mastery was far above his. Yana tried to help by growing green roots to hold Lygar, but Eli Cari intervened: “Yana, stop! I want to do this alone!” · “Yana! Keep going! You’re still at a disadvantage!” Lygar provoked, easily dodging the Groien roots. · Yana hesitated and stepped back. Lygar saw the opening. He created a Blade of Darkness in his palm and advanced with lethal speed toward Eli Cari. · BOOM! · A massive crash shook the trees. At the last second, Lygar saw that Eli Cari was no longer in front of him. He was behind him. · Lygar turned, incredulous. His attack had missed, but the greater shock was the revelation. “He was actually fast,” Lygar murmured. “I didn’t expect that.” · Eli Cari had used his new Mixed speed to dodge Lygar’s attack and protect the Noxian from an energy projectile fired by someone else. · “Idiot! Your opponent is me!” Lygar reacted with a heavy slap to Eli Cari, more from surprise than fury, throwing him to the ground. · “A ‘thank you’ first would be nice, you ungrateful bastard!” Eli Cari shouted. · Lygar laughed — a dry, hoarse sound. He remembered the flashback of when Eli Cari had said exactly the same thing after being rescued. · The opponent who had fired the projectile stepped out of the trees. He was a tall man with strong Mixed features, but he wore dark, worn clothing. · It was Glinn. A Selection veteran, expelled from the prestigious Solaris Academy for bad behavior and “inappropriate ideals” for the Kingdom. His expulsion had been a media scandal. · Eli Cari and Lygar said at the same time, in shock: “Glinn?!” · Yana, nervous, shouted: “Lygar, Eli, let’s get out of here!” · But Glinn was in front of Yana in the blink of an eye. “Still thinking of running?” he asked, his voice calm but cutting. Silence fell. He added: “So the freshmen are fighting and thinking they’re strong.” · Eli Cari thought, adrenaline flooding him: “Oh my God, what damn luck we have. Crazy Glinn appeared.” · Lygar, for the first time in the fight, looked calculating. “Pseudo-Noxian. He’s incredibly strong.” · Glinn, who was a Mixed of human and Noxian and took tremendous pride in his dark side, looked at Eli Cari. “At least half of you is worth something… the rest is damn Vindicari.” Then he looked at Lygar. “You still have a lot to improve. If you survive, you have potential.” · Finally, he turned back to Eli Cari. “You… ready. It’ll be a pleasure to see you as a Luzlon.” · Eli Cari was shocked by the rage he felt when looking at Glinn. Were the stories he had heard about Noxians the same ones Noxians heard about Vindicari? The resentment was palpable. · There was little time to think. A fist coated in Mixed energy was right in front of Eli Cari’s eyes. “BOOOM!” Eli Cari flew and hit a tree, falling again. · Lygar was surprised. Glinn advanced on him. Unlike Eli Cari, Lygar dodged, but the force of Glinn’s blow cracked the tree behind him. Yana felt powerless; she knew that if she interfered, Glinn would use her against them. The expelled Mixed was not even giving his full strength.
