(SCENARIO: Clearing in the Forest of Noxi. Eli Cari on the ground, Lygar standing, Glinn approaching.)
Eli Cari stood up, his body screaming in pain, and staggered toward Lygar. The Mixed-blood could not win alone, but he could not run either.
Eli Cari has short dark-brown hair dirty with dirt and blood. Eli Cari has golden/amber eyes full of pain and determination. Eli Cari wears a grey training suit with light armor details, torn and dirty.
Lygar has longer, spiky black/dark hair. Lygar has dark purple/violet eyes. Lygar has a cold expression. Lygar wears dark Noxian-style clothing. A black and purple shadow aura surrounds him.
Lygar, surprised by Eli Cari’s defensive speed, moved with the Shadow, facing Glinn with fast and furious blows.
The fight began to show a surprising balance. Eli Cari used his Sharp Light (thin golden blades) with the speed he had trained, focusing on diverting Glinn’s attention, while Lygar attacked with Shadow from angles Glinn did not expect. To their surprise — and to Glinn’s fury — Eli Cari and Lygar made an excellent combination, as if they had been born to be teammates. The discipline of Light (Eli Cari) and the chaos of Shadow (Lygar) complemented each other perfectly.
Yana saw the opening and remembered her role. Yana has dark hair of medium length. Yana has green or light-brown eyes. Yana wears modest clothes. She began subtly manipulating the plants of the forest, making the earth softer or branches break under Glinn’s feet. Her Groien (green plants and roots) was working for the alliance.
Glinn lost his patience. He felt he had to give more of himself to crush the audacity of that pair. He stepped away from the physical fight and shouted, raising his fists:
“SHADOW MOON!”
A terrible black ball began to open in the sky between the treetops, growing like a new moon made of pure darkness and destruction.
Eli Cari knew that was a final attack that would sweep the clearing. He activated his best Light Shield.
“LIGHT SHIELD!” Eli Cari shouted. Then he yelled to his improvised team: “Yana! Lygar! Behind me!”
Yana acted first. “Yeees! But first, GROIEN!” A massive, newly grown green tree burst from the ground in front of Eli Cari’s shield, providing an extra layer of defense.
“Lygaaaaar! Come on!” Eli Cari begged.
Lygar moved, but not without answering first: “Just because I accept your help doesn’t mean we become friends!”
Eli Cari laughed, the sound hoarse and desperate. “That’s enough for me!”
Glinn’s attack approached, destroying everything in its path. Yana’s tree was reduced to pieces and turned to dust. The attack hit Eli Cari’s shield directly.
“Aaaaaaaaaaah!” the three of them screamed.
Eli Cari’s Light Shield shattered, and the impact sent a shockwave across the ground.
Thunderous noise and dense smoke filled the clearing. Glinn descended slowly, analyzing the smoke. “I never thought he had reached this level,” he thought, almost with pride. The smoke began to clear, and Glinn glimpsed a silhouette.
With a smile, he said: “He really has potential.” thinking that it was Lygar
The smoke disappeared completely. Glinn’s eyes widened. It was not Lygar. It was not Yana. It was Eli Cari — the half-Vindicari he despised so much — the only one still standing. Eli Cari had used his body and his shield to protect the others.
Lygar, thrown to the ground and unable to get up, felt for the first time the fear of being weaker than someone. His thoughts were a whirlwind of fury and resignation: “I need to become much stronger… I’m at my limit. If I survive this, I’ll never call you ungrateful again, Eli.”
Glinn saw that Eli Cari was standing, but motionless, broken.
“Kneel, Vindicari, and I won’t kill you,” Glinn said, approaching. He added: “Drop that sad Vindicari pride.”
Eli Cari sighed, spitting blood. “Cough, cough, aaaaah. It’s not Vindicari pride, Glinn. It’s simply my own pride.”
“Last pretty words.” Glinn raised his fist.
At that moment, something cut through the wind. Three shurikens flew toward Glinn. He dodged, but one of the projectiles, made of a dark non-magical material, hit him in the shoulder.
Glinn stopped, fist suspended. He looked at the wound and then at the trees. Someone had just intervened. The game had changed.
